Three additions are coming to the Nintendo Selects range for 3DS on June 29th, including Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.

If you haven't had the chance to play these games before, or just want to add some classics to your collection, here's your opportunity. Each title will be available from the Nintendo eShop for €19.99 / £15.99.

In addition, there are two new Nintendo 2DS XL bundles launching on the same day. The black and lime green bundle comes pre-installed with Mario Kart 7, and the white and lavender bundle comes with Tomadachi Life.

If you're on the fence about getting a new piece of hardware, check out our original review of the 2DS XL here. We gave it a gold award, noting that it's "much better than any design that came before it."

As for the games, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is by far the best of bunch and a steal at that price. We gave it a 9/10 way back when, calling it "quite simply the best Animal Crossing has ever been."

Altas Empires, Cerberus Interactive's AR strategy, is now available for iOS and Android in select regions as the game begins to roll out to various territories in soft-launch. This week, folks who live in New Zealand, Australia and Canada will be able to begin playing the game.

If you're unfamiliar with Atlas Empires, it's a location-based strategy game that looks to blend base-building and tower defence with augmented reality. Players will be able to claim a plot of land as their own and begin to a base of their own.

This base can be further fortified by hunting for chests that might contain valuable resources such as gold, wood or stone. Beyond that, there are various units players can recruit to battle against other players. You'll also be able to create Outposts to collect resources that bases neighbouring your own will also benefit from.

Cerberus Interactive were keen to have potential players involved in development from an early stage. As such, there have been various closed beta tests involving fans where the feedback they provided has apparently been influential in the direction the game has taken.

Discussing fan involvement with the development of Atlas Empires, Sami Khan, CEO and co-founder of Cerberus Interactive said: "We are incredibly grateful to our initial wave of fans for their ongoing support and dedication to Atlas Empires.”

Last week we reported on how Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead was collaborating with Canadian YouTuber Kenny “Drae” to promote a few of the game’s early levels. There was no release date set at the time, but the fact they were marketing this so heavily implied it was coming very soon. It’s now been announced that the game will release for all platforms, iOS and Android included, on 19th November.

The Bridge Constructor series has been going since 2011, and has always featured the same sort of gameplay but with different themes over the years. At its core, it’s about creating bridges between two points using a limited number of structural parts, and you have to ensure it’s sturdy enough to take the weight of your vehicle that’s crossing over.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead utilises the same kind of gameplay, except now you have walker hordes (those are zombies for anyone not in the know) to deal with, and you’ll get bonus points for wiping out these masses. There seems to be a lot of variation in how this can occur, too.

Enjoy around the globe the roads events. With objects manifold; each several stone,

Clan N, the arcade brawler from Cremative is getting a release on iOS and Android devices soon.

Set in a world with an ancient Far East theme, the game is about Clan N, an ancient samurai group sworn to protect the realm from those who seek to destroy it. The four group members consist of the ninjat? wielding ninja Akira, the staff-striking Reina, the dual sword swinging Daiki, and the sickle slashing monk Tarou.

After years of training to the craft, each character uncovers their own special unique magical abilities to help them fight against the forces of evil. Akira shoots pulse-filled lightning bolts, Reina controls the ground with vicious earthquake shocks, Daiki swirls up brutal tornado waves, and Tarou can call for the help of Dragons.

Clan N is a fast-paced beat ‘em up which combines classic arcade gameplay with the modern action of today’s brawlers. You must dodge, block and use an array of different attacks to progress, ensuring that each attack is carefully thought ahead for success. There are seven different levels, divided into more than 50 subsections, and featuring a diverse range of enemies. This is also accompanied by bosses and casual mini games integrated into the main crux of the gameplay.

Yuji Horii, the creator of the Dragon Quest series, apparently let it slip at Japan Expo in Paris that Dragon Quest VII and VIII on 3DS would be heading west.

The reports came in around the same time on Twitter from various people attending the event.

The first one to tweet it out was a translator and editor for fan site Final Fantasy World who reports that Horii said the games would be heading outside of Japan "in French."

Then French fan site Final Fantasy Ring tweeted the same thing.

A little later, an editor at Nova Crystallis also tweeted the news and added that the translator "got upset" when making the announcement.

If true, then if the game is heading outside of Japan in French, then it should also be coming to other countries in their native languages too.
Slip of the tongue
We reported on the 3DS re-release of the PS2 game Dragon Quest VIII earlier this year remarking that it probably wouldn't get an English version.

That was due to the previous Dragon Quest VII remake on 3DS only being in Japanese.

But if these reports are correct and Horii is telling the truth then all of what we speculated before may be balderdash.

Here's to hoping we get an official announcement on these localisations from Square Enix soon.

In the meantime, read up on the new features that are heading to the 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII - includes new episodes and party members.
Siliconera, Gematsu
